As per the latest company filings with the Registrar of companies (RoC), Samsung India had crossed the mark of 50000 crore sales in the year of 2016-17.Samsung as a brand becomes the first choice for the consumer goods in India. The Company’s total income including turnover and other incomes have grown up by 15.5% to 55,511.9 crore in the FY 2017 as compare to the previous year income of 48,053 crore.
Samsung smartphones is the main hero in the success of brand, and dominated the mobile market in 2016-17. Its mobile business was more than of combined sales of top Chinese sellers (Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo) and Indian sellers (Micromax and Intex) and almost triple of Apple India sales.Samsung smartphones sales grew up by 26.7% to Rs 34261 crore, home appliances sales grew by 12% to Rs 6395.6 crore and television business remained at Rs.
4,481 crore.The company’s net profit also got boost by 38% increase to Rs. 4156.2 crore. Samsung attributed the success of brand to ‘make in India’ and said the initiative have helped a lot in understanding the design needs of customers and consider to be a most important initiative.”we continue to see strong growth opportunities for our businesses and expect to cross $ 10 billion in revenues this year in India,” said Samsung officials.
