Lucy Jones – Prefect ApplicationDear Mrs Doolan,I would like to become a prefect as I see this as a great opportunity to contribute back to school. I believe I have the qualities required for becoming prefect as I am responsible and am prepared to carry out various duties to the best of my ability. In addition, I am confident that I could set a good example for other pupils around the school. I have previously helped at the Old Folks party and got involved in the robotics competition at Leeds University. I attend extra Physics lessons after school to help and improve my knowledge. In addition, I competed with school at Leigh Sports Village running in the Cross country 2017 and Wigan & Leigh Schools Athletics 2018. Subsequently, this added to my previous experience of being an athlete at Wigan Harriers.
All the above activities have allowed me to gain experience in interacting with a wide variety of people, working as a team and developing a sense of responsibility and commitment. Furthermore, I am very mature and able to converse with a variety of people as I lived in Spain for over 4 years. This meant that I had to learn the language and settle into a new school.
Living in Spain gave me an insight for the first time into the struggle of communicating in another language. As I am fluent in Spanish I recently completed my GCSE Spanish a year early and achieved a grade 9 so I am now able to concentrate on my French this year. I am very committed to my learning and am determined to get the best grades possible in my GCSE’s this year.My attitude and punctuality is always to the highest standard. I believe I am prepared to take on the extra responsibility of being a prefect. I always have the equipment required for the day and I think being a prefect would improve my skills and qualities as well as others’.
Thank you for spending the time to read my application.
